Triton Support Services is thrilled to announce that we are offering an in-person solution for students with special education needs! We know that being out of a school environment is taking a toll on all students (and parents), but it is “particularly intense for the kids with developmental challenges” (New York Times).
Starting September 8th, Triton will be offering Learning Matters Coaching Pods! This is a small group setting for students to develop executive functioning skills related to organization, socialization, and academics. Here’s how the schedule works.
Times (based on availability)
Mornings from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Afternoons from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
With a social hour on Fridays!
4 consecutive weeks
Who are Learning Matters Coaching Pods for?
- Elementary school aged children
- Students typically in need of push-in and/or pull-out services
- Students where independence in learning is still emerging
- Students with diagnosed or suspected learning and/or developmental challenges
Triton Support Services is committed to providing a team approach to all of our students and families. Having a multidisciplinary and multisensory approach to learning is crucial for students with special education needs. Each week, students will have an opportunity to meet with our speech and occupational therapists for social groups designed to help develop communication skills, for learning and friendship, along with helping our team identify further therapeutic needs.
Our Coaching Pods will allow students to have a school routine with support from our Student Coaches to not only log into their virtual classrooms, but to collaborate with your child’s school team. They discover what learning style works best for your child, identify potential accommodations, and to guide students with hands-on support.
At the end of each month, our Triton Team will have created a Student Biography of Learning and Success, which is a Report to follow your student into their next placement — outlining best practices differentiated to each students’ individual needs. (Gasp! This is an incredible tool!)
We know that parents are in need of support, too. Each month, parents are invited in for our Parent Support Night (available online) to discuss with our expert team of educators and therapists, collaborate with one another, and meet in a community environment to promote learning for all.
Each learning pod will have a limited number of spots available for safe social distancing and to ensure each student receives individual guidance during their time with us.
